My two regular SATA connectors are in use with two HDs. Can the additional "raid' SATA connectors be used for a SATA DVD R/RW, since the manual seems to indicate they are for setting up raid HDs only?

I don't see why they wouldn't work for a DVD\RW drive. My MB has 2 SATA ports on it, one which I use for the HDD and the other for the DVD\RW and it works quite well.

That is not the question. I want to know if I can use the 2 HDs on the Raid SATA ports, not in raid configuration, and then free up the regular SATA ports.
