UPDATE: Instead of installing each of the 50+ files individually follow the steps below.

    http://www.thehotfix.net/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=10 <--winxp-sp3.txt. file
Attached is a file called winxp-sp3.txt.

    - Download the SP3 hotfix package and extract to any directory
    - Copy posted text file to your PC and edit it with notepad
    - At the top, change PATHTOFIXES to the directory you have the hotfixes located
    - Save and rename this file from winxp-sp3.txt to winxp-sp3.cmd

Run this CMD file by doubleclicking - it will install all the hotfixes automatically. Once it's completed, you need to manually reboot your PC.

Hope that helps everyone and thanks to the web host for such a site!

The Hotfix is getting TONS of traffic... we're buying a dedicated server as we speak. We'll be back up REALLY soon with more regular news and the regular site design. Sorry about this! <<----- from thehotfix.net website.

Thanks MA, the other site kept giving me corrupt downloads. Your server gave me a clean file and at 600KB/s to boot! :D

I'm not trying to knock a good thing, but do you guys trust this?

I mean, working for (well under) MS for so long, I've seen how ugly a lot of those hotfixes you have to call in for can be. I mean, they aren't regression tested at all, and I've seen them blow up on occasion. Its not uncommon for the final version of a hotfix, before going public, to be revised to fix some obscure issue.

Not saying don't get it, its just for me, its a cause for concern.

    Thoughts?

Who would be sane enough to install these fixes on a buisiness machine? If you read up on certain KB's, you'll notice that these MAY fix issues that are rare to happen.

    I agree with Adrynalyne.

For the above posts, I'd install these at your own risk, on a machine that was not in a production situation, to be sure that nothing ill would come about.

    Just my humble opinion.

XP sp2 was tested by 1000's of individuals (myself included).. Yet, there were issues. How can one trust these?

Thanks guys. The idea of waiting until an official release sounds like a good one to me, as well.

I'm hoping downloading the full file version will enable us to slip stream it. May make for a cleaner install. Worked pretty well for SP2.

Well it may Not be the Official Released But Thanks For teaching me How to Update the File Automatically. and also for compiling the hotfixes all in 1 zip files
It a GREAT work done and I reallt appreciated it
Thanks one more and it do make life easier whenever I need to reinstall win xp again.

Ok the arguement about hotfixes, Patches and upgrade is always this--> If it ain't broken dun fix it.
SO it up 2 u guys to think whether to patches them or not.
The computer at home I won't patch cos it not online whereas the one at work I won't mind cos it aint my fault if things get foul up, it Microsoft and they have been doing that for years already.....
By the way, My heart is always with windows 98SE cos I have most of the programs for the OS/DOS but my office wanna to upgrade and I dun see any reason to anyway but they are the bosses so Upgrade and now I see them complaining cos they wanna to budget for MS Office 2003 /AutoCad 200x
Whereas R14 is good enough for me.
