Is there a way to network printer dvd player

I have my printer on the network every thing works just fine all but the dvd player that is on the printer, my pc want see it as a network drive...c8180 photosmart printer all in one that has the lightscribe dvd writer on it, I am trying to keep from plugging up the usb to use the dvd... I would like to just use the lightscribe part of the dvd on the printer from the pc over the network just like i can print, scan etc.... but so for have not been able to do this...any one have an idea of how this can be done...

 

what make and model of printer do you have?

 

it is a HP photosmart c8180 all -in-one printer hp makes it...
