    Hello...

Can anyone tell me why one of my workstations will not open certain web pages. Let me give an example:

After the user types in her credentials on hotmail and clicks "submit", all she gets is a blank page or sometimes the "This page cannot be displayed" deal. What's weird is I can log into my Yahoo account, get into my Inbox, but when I click the "Reply" button to respond to an email, I get nothing.

I have some possible ideas, but anymore ideas thrown out there would be greatly appreciated.

possibly it is a print share prob, or else it sounds like a firwall issue

    Yes

What would a print share have to do with it?

Here's what I get when the "This Page cannot be displayed" finally decides to come up.

At the very bottom I get:

Cannot find server or DNS error
    Internet explorer

All computers are using dhcp, but have static dns servers (provided by bellsouth)

    I'm almost certain it's a firewall somewhere.

    Deuce,
Like you said, it's got NOTHING to do with file & printer sharing. I don't even know why he mentioned it.
Anyway, I had same problems with some of my clients' and it was fixed by giving it static IP, DNS and WINS. To my knowledge, this shouldn't matter, but it worked... I'll check more and let you know.

I'm pretty sure it's a firewall inside the router. We took the modem down, plugged it straight into one of the computers, and we could view those web pages.

It's an Asante router, which I have never worked with before like I have Linksys or D-Link. Everything looks good on the router end, but no where can I find where to configure any firewall settings on it. I might just switch with what I know...Linksys.

Briefly...I'm going to take a look at it before I use another router. We could just go ahead and replace it and I could take the router home with me, mess around with it, and use it somewhere else.
