File Scavenger alternative.

Hi.

Is there a free (preferably open-source) alternative to 'File Scavenger'? A tool that shows all files like so [see attached image of File Scavenger screenshot]?

Recuva is free. I have used it to recover files from a formatted memory stick.

It's not so much undelete software that I want. You see, I recently copied over files from a laptop HDD with bad sectors via a HDD Docking Station onto a newly installed laptop HDD using File Scavenger. I just wanted files from the 'Users' folder mainly and FS made this easy.

 

I wondered why you're asking for an alternative to File Scavenger and no mention of recovering files. Anyhow, give XYplorer a try. The second link is to a features comparasion between the Free and Pro versions. And it's portable.

Can Xyplorer also copy and keep the file structure like File Scavenger does?

 

I have only used XYplorer for a short time. You'll have to test it. I think it will do what you need. Have another look at the comparison between the Free and Pro versions.
