I wish we had newegg or similar priced store over here in the UK. This setup would cost around $800-$900 buying from UK suppliers!

Hardware looks great, but I would suggest a larger screen maybe? If this is for gaming, an 18.5 would just be too small i think. 20 or 22 should fit nicely into the same budget :)

Also for a monitor I was thinking about using a tv, I am just not sure what to look for.

    The highest TV resolution on the consumer market is 1920x1080, whereas 22 inch monitors are normally 1680 x 1050 / 1920 x 1080 / 1920 x 1200

If you're gonna use a TV, you can use the speakers too if you use an HDMI cable. Any High Definition TV can accept a DVI cable also, as long as you buy an DVI to HDMI adapter. If you're going with a TV instead of standard monitor, HDMI is the easiest connection :)

    Try this: AOC monitor

    and this: Sceptre TV

I must admit, I dunno what the brand Sceptre is like, but high would highly recommend spending more if you want a TV instead of monitor. Brand name 26 inch 1080p (Panasonic,Samsung,Sony) I cant stand cheap tellys! Personal thing, I know

If you can, go for a screen that's 1080p rather than 720p. 1080p is the highest resolution for TV's, and equates to 1920 x 1080 resolution. 720p wouldnt be high enough as it's only 1280 x 720, especially on a 32 inch screen.

If it's a money worry, I would get a TV later, and a monitor now.

I just want a big screen lol with good quality.. ill spend just as much on the computer for the screen lol... I was just wondering if I am into graphic design I may want to stay away from a tv or no?

If this design work will be printed for display/exhibition/photos, get a dedicated monitor. Tv's and monitors normally support the same amount of colours, but monitors tend to have higher NATIVE contrast ratios than LCD TV's do. For example a mid-range 22" monitor will be 1000:1, whereas a mid-range 22" TV will be 700:1

Both TV's and monitors always display a dynamic contrast (because it's the highest) but for design, the native contrast ratio is the one you're interested in (again the higher the better)

Dynamic contrast should only be used for a TV (except in certain circumstances, like watching a film on you're PC). Dynamic contrast actively raises and lowers the backlight to create deep blacks on a dark scene, or bright whites and colours on a light scene. As you can imagine, this will cause problems on a dark graphics project as it will further lower the backlight making the whole screen much darker. This proves problems when you come to print and it looks NOTHING like what's on the screen! I do a lot of design so have learnt from experience of not having the monitor setup correctly :cry

Native contrast ratio is constant. If the native contrast ratio is 1000:1, it means there's 1000 steps between the darkest black and brightest white, but it doesn't change the backlight to achieve this.

Most TV's will allow you to turn dynamic contrast off so they revert to native contrast, but as mentioned before, monitors tend to have higher native contrast.

Sorry if this is a bit confusing. My typing runs away from me sometimes!

looking good! fast response, decent resolution, and it's HUGE. 3 year warranty too, and it's sold by Amazon the cheapest so at least you're buying from a reputable company.

Not sure what LG monitors are like in general, but I know they have an extremely strong working relationship with Samsung and Philips in LCD TV's

I say yes. Let's see if anyone else has more opinions??

@tonz-sk8: Are you planning to use the TV as well as the monitor, or just one or the other?

    @Michenko: try ebuyer or misco.co.uk
