Prefetch

    Ive come across a program to disable Prefetch in Windowsxp.Is this advisable? :)

    Well personally NO

    and why, well prefetcher helps shorten boot and program loading times and as part of the memory managment side of XP is a good thing BUT it will consume some memory so that is why some users with low memory systems do disable the prefetcher but if you have 512mb or more I wouldnt bother JUST remember to periodically clean the contents of the folder out as old uninstalled apps will still be listed in their.

    Thank You brother Xflat ;) yep on advice to get more memory.


    Also as MS say in that KB disabling is helpful in a fault finding situation.
