IE7 & Malware issues???

My bosses system was acting up last week. He would bring up Internet Eplorer (7.0v) and his homepage is set to Google.
He would type in whatever site he was seeking... it would go through its "search" phase and then re-direct the page to a site called FourSite but most times a website called Info.com would come up. Could never get to the actual site he was seeking.
Ran both Spybot & AVG Anti-Spyware. Both found junk and went through the removal process... now when bringing up IE7 it automatcally just goes to the Internet not working page. We use MS Outlook for mail interface and he is still getting external email as well as internal email from the LAN but cannot get online.
I uninstalled the NIC card and rebooted to re-install as sometimes that works but I do think this is more of a Malware or Virus or Trojan issue.

Anyone else run across this or have an idea?

    thanks in advance...

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Just an update... still no change IE7 still throwing up a Cannot Connect page or when typing Yahoo or some other site, it will often say "Invalid Address".

Tried reinstalling the NIC card as well as IE7 - no good.
Even installed another NIC card - no good.

This weekend I will focus on getting some of the Malware programs run and post back the logs from those runs.

Hopefully, in those logs, someone can tell me what is holding up the internet.

    Thanks...

If you want me to help then you must follow my instructions and provide me with the logs I request. I would recommend running the cleaning procedure ASAP however it's up to you.
