Re: Help finding the right audio driver

    Hi and welcome

You'll need to start a new thread in the driver forum on your issue and give us as much information as possible, things like....

    1. What windows version you using?
    2. Is your PC an OEM built one like from DELL, HP, Sony etc, if so what model is it.
    3. If your PC is a home build what Motherboard make and model is it?
    4. What driver are you missing or what is the actual problem you need help with.

Some info that will be helpful if you have not used a forum before...

    Hi

Moved your question to its own thread.

Judging by what others have done when downgrading Vista to XP on PCs that where built around Vista, and in the same model range as your laptop is that used this Modem Driver ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp37501-38000/sp37725.exe

    Hi

Do you use a Modem for Dialup Internet/Fax services or are you on Cable, DSL? if so and your PC is not having any other issues, then disable this device as you're not going to be using it anyways.

In Device Manager what items have Yellow ! marks by them if any?

Sadly its very hit and miss on drivers when downgrading from Vista to XP, as that PC was build around drivers for Vista (not a Microsoft issue but HP and the OEMs in their development of new hardware and not making the drivers backward compatible), only other one some with a DV9700t HP laptop have used is this one http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/113533 after that I dont know which ones may work, if Vista came on that PC and you need the modem, then revert to Vista, its a good OS, different to XP but then XP was different to Win98.
