CPU Upgrade Trigem Dublin Motherboard

Ok, so this is a e-machine T4160. I know it is not meant to be upgraded, overclocked and such......
Can the Trigem Dublin mobo with 400 FSB run any CPU with 400 FSB i.e. the P4 2.6 W/400 FSB?? Does it need a BIOS flash? I was going to download the mobo manuel, but read a post on another site stating this situation was not addressed.

I have 1G of ram, a budget video card (Geforece4 MX4000), Sound Blaster live and the P4 1.6. This computer plays Far Cry just fine but I feel the processor is getting a little long in the tooth for "Doom 3" and I cannot play "Pacific Assult" until I get a new video card. If I can upgrade to the P4 2.6 I can justify a better video card and let the T4160 live a little longer.

I have two kids in college so I am on a rather tight budget.

Does anyone know the answer?

I would think this part would work fine p4 2.6 400bus

Check the power supply, if it is 200W as listed you are going to need more power 300 or 350W should be cheap, I only recomend Antec but usuaully more $$

 

Another thing occured to me, the BIOS may be a limiting factor, won't do you any good if the BIOS won't recognize the P4 2.6. Is the bios upgradeable?
