What are some ways I could optimize my cousin's dial-up connection so that he gets more than 5 kb/s (even though it claims to be 46.6 >_>)? He used Netscape, and all the web accelerator thing does it filter images and crap to make them smaller in size.

when you connect on dial up you are connected at the 46.6 or w/e but you can only download at5kbps or w.e ...what ever your speed is (i.e. 46k) devide that by 8 and that's around your download speed. you can't actually make it faster. dialup can only go so fast(maximum 53.3k)
