ok i have a home network setup and my wireless internet connection always worked fine. Then i had to format my computer and i reinstalled my pci wireless g card but it is acting strange. My internet connection will only work for a few hours (8-10) and then just won't work anymore but the weird thing is that the thing in my system tray that shows my signal strength says very high. It shows that its connected and its getting a good signal strength (only one room away from router) but internet just shuts off. Also, when i restart my computer it will like reset and my internet will work again for a few hours then shut off again any help would be greatly appreciated

When the internet stops functioning, open a command prompt (start->run, type cmd, enter). Enter ipconfig /all and post results here.

I'm having the exact same problem.

ipconfig /all when disconnected is exactly the same as ipconfig /all when connected.

Yea even when it goes down, it still says in wireless network connection:

    Signal Strength: Excellent
    Status: Connected

restarting the computer is the only way I've found to get the internet to work again, but then it goes down after a while of usage.

This problem doesn't make sense to my brain.

hmm i guess i can only edit a post until after i log out? well my internet went down again so heres a little more info:

It works for a while and then it just stops. Nothing changes, it doesnt alert me of anything, still looks just as it did when it was working, it just doesnt work.

I did not have this problem until I recently upgraded and had to reinstall windows on a different hard drive. I'm still using the same USB D-Link DWL-120+ wireless network adapter.

This problem happened on a pretty clean windows install, and continued to happen after i installed service pack 2 and windows updates.

Also, there is another computer connected to the same router, and the internet functions normally on that one.

This problem doesn't make sense to my brain.

i still have found no solution to this nagging problem. I use the "repair" function and this will sometime fix my wireless connection but only about 1 out of 10 times. I don't know whats wrong

No one knows whats going on? This would seem to be a common problem.

i think i found a solution. Search for your router model and download the latest firmware for it. I recently did this with my netgear wgr614v6 router and my interent has worked ever since
Try this because it worked for me
    Good luck

i noticed you said you have a D link Wua 1340 but this is only your usb adapter model number, so search for your routers model newest firmware
