Hi folks, I keep getting an error that my computer is not assigned an IP address from the network (by the DHCP name server).

How do I correct this , I only use an Ethernet connection and do not use Wireless (because I don't even have a router and am perfectly happy using Ethernet) but I do have wireless adapters enabled.

My Wireless adapters are enabled because I thought all drivers in device manager should be enabled.

    Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know

    Thank you

What version of Windows are you running? Did you try the Network Connection Wizard (XP) or Network and Sharing (later versions)?

Under XP, I don't install device drivers for devices I don't use (Fax Modem, Wireless Internet, Smart Card Reader, Bluetooth) and it hasn't affected performance. Vista, on the other hand, automatically configured these devices during OS installation.
