picture viewer

    Hi my brother just phoned and said he can't open some pictures on his PC using the picture viewer when trying to open them it says on screen (windows photo viewer can't open this picture because photo viewer dosen't support this file fomat or you need to download the latest updates for photo viewer) they are all jpeg and all updates are up to date any help would be good please.

    What Windows version?

    Can he open these jpegs with any other imaging software?

    That's the only software on the pc relating to pictures some pictures open others don't but all are jpeg
    Windows 7 home premium

    I would ask him to download irfanview it opens all formats of pictures.
