I have xsoft v4.21, adaware, and webroot spysweeper. xsoft seemed to remove the cybersitter 2k process, but sites are still being blocked, my computer is slower, I have trouble running online games, and get frequent internet explorer and firefox errors that according to the microsoft error info page are caused by cybersitter. Someone please help me find away to get rid of this program, my parents let the computer guy put it on my computer while he was fixing hardware problems and they are clueless about computers and don't know the master password, or even who to contact to find it out. I am 18 by the way and even if they cared about leaving the program on my computer it wouldn't be up to them, but they don't care and they won't waste their time hiring someone to remove it. I would like help just removing this program and all of its components and system changes for good so that I don't have to reformat my entire drive. Thanks alot.
    Here are my HijackThis reports

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Cybersitter does not show in your log. Normally it is something that is installed by the Administrator (usually a parent) of a PC to control access to websites. If the program is not necessary, have the Administrator uninstall it but I do not see it right now. We cannot help you bypass this restriction. You must get the person who has the password to uninstall it.

You do have other problems though (one is a password stealing trojan) and should work thru are cleaning procedures given below. Make sure you follow all steps and get HijackThis installed properly. Also do not post inline logs. All logs must be attachments only.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

    .
Also note: did you install sp2connpatcher.exe . This is possibly a Warez program. See the below:

Still having Cybersitter 2K related problems

I have run the runa and read me first sticky and done everything it suggested word for word yet I continue to have problems I am assuming are related to having cybersitter 2k on my computer. When searching on google for terms like gay or or anything that would probably be blocked by , the cannot find server page comes up. Websites like are also blocked along with anything that has to do with removing or disabling cybersitter (ex.www.cexx.org/censware.htm ). I have done everything on this website and run many more programs that are supposed to remove cybersitter. I can no longer find traces of the program on my computer but I am still having these problems. Can someone please help me.

P.S. there are probably blanks in my posts where cybersitter deleted words it found innappropriate

Re: Still having Cybersitter 2K related problems

    You forgot the PandaActiveScan log!

However, did you ever consider that perhaps it is related to something else you have installed? You seem to use AOL. It can do things like this too. So can other things like Content Advisor in Internet Explorer. Perhaps you need to check these settings. Or perhaps it is part of your AV program settings. At anyrate, it is not a malware problem. It is more than likely something setup and configured on your PC.

Who is the owner of the PC and who is the Administrator?

I am but my computer technition was the one who set up my internet and I wasn't here at the time so I guess my parents told him that he could install whatever he wanted on the computer, what do you reccomend that I do to figure out what settings I need to change, I don't use AOL though it came pre-installed on the computer. I will uninstall it but if that doesn't work what other steps do you suggest I take.

Get in touch with the computer technician and ask him for the information to uninstall the CyberSitter program. It must have been installed under an Administrator account somewhere and it is probably operating in a stealth mode.

We cannot give out procedures to defeat software like this. It is a violation of the principles we follow and we cannot be sure exactly who we are dealing with.

So talk to your parents and the technician.

I deleted AOL and I am still having some of the same problems, now when I try to go to a site that could be innappropriate or edgy I get sent to "http://www.pick-to-click.com/best-free-stuff.htm", or "http://www.pick-to-click.com/best-music-downloads.htm" but for some still just won't load or my browser will say "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." Thanks for any help or information regarding my problem.

Thanks but my parents are clueless about anything even slightly computer related, they can check their email and thats about it. If you can't help me out anymore I guess I will have to try and contact the technition, thanks for your time though.

That is all I can recommend if the Cyber Sitter program is installed on your PC. They are designed to prevent people from defeating the security it provides. The Administrator who installs prgrams like this, is the only person who will have the passwords and information necessary to uninstall it.

Since we cannot work on defeating protection like this, your alternatives are the technician or to format and reinstall your system.
