    Hi,

I have run the Kapersky TDSSkiller (no problem found)
    and
    MBRCheck.exe.

MBRCheck found the MBR faulty, so I tried using the fix it option (only later to see I should not have done that.) Anyway, some problem seems to have been fixed, but MBRCheck still tells me there is a MBR problem.

(I use XP Home Edition on an Asus EeePC 1000HE.)

This morning I was waked by a phone from Microsoft, where an Indian voice (or voice machine) tried to get me to the computer and fix a problem by phone.

He obviously had access to my not listed (secret) land line phone number, and stated that my computer does sent mails as I start up. I chose to end the conversation (if it was a real person, I'm not sure).

These two problems may or may not be related, so I just would like some advice here.

That's what I did, i believe. However, for some reason the attachments did not "stick". I'll try again now:

Boot into your bios, change the boot order to CD/DVD as first boot device and insert the XP install disc. Reboot and go into the Recovery Console. Type:
    fixmbr
Reboot to normal mode and re-run MBRCheck. Attack the log.

MBRCheck ran and reported all OK. Log attached.

What malware issues are you still having, if any?

    Possibly no problem?

    The processes plugin-container.exe and firefox.exe run around 15% (+/- 10%).

(Firefox w/10 pages open and Mozilla Thunderbird only.)

The former services.exe problem seems to have been fixed by MBRCheck.

    Thank you!
