My friend turned on his computer and now gets the BSOD in Win XP.

Unfortuneately I cannpt physically go there and fix it, as he lives far away from me.

I was wondering if you guys could give me a little help, so I can report back to him.

    It's a Dell Dimension 2300 PC

Here is the exact error message:

Stop:c000021a The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x000009(0x00000000 0x00000000) The System has been shut down

As of now, I'm thinking about telling him to pop in the XP CD and either chkdsk /r in recovery console, or repair windows XP.

    Any advice is welcome.

    Thanks.

    Jnick

    Two very, very common causes.

    1. Pc Anywhere
    2. bubba.wintools (aka wintools for IE)

Can he get into Safe Mode?
