Hi, my usual browser Mozilla Firefox is after going all strange over the last couple of days. first the icon changed to an uglier version of it, just with v bad resolution like and ev thing else was looking fine, then it stopped working altogether, so i deleted the old one, redownloaded it, and it works again except the icon looks all crap again, so i fixed that by choosing a different 'chose icon' thing, but still when i click on it, it randomly asks RUN AS... asking which user (basically me or another version of me) it is being run with. oh and the icon hass written under it 'safe mode'. why is this. its just a bit annoying, any advice?

Hmm haven't had the exact problem you have... But I think your problem is related to your profiles.

Set your folder options to show hidden files. Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\User(log in name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles"

One of the folders in there is the one you have set up with the extensions you installed. Try to see which one it is by looking into them, and see which one has the extensions etc that you recognise as yours. Make a backup of the other one/others (in case you take the wrong one) and delete them. Copy the name of the folder with your profile. Go up one folder, in the Firefox folder you will find a profiles.ini file. Change the path so that it has the name of your folder in it, instead of what you have there, make sure the rest of the path stays intact.

If you still have problems with this, I'm guessing you have a problem with an extension or something. When you uninstall Firefox and reinstall it, it doesn't delete your profile, it will keep it, and start using the default profile. So if you are having problems after this, and you need a clean start, you have to delete the Mozilla folder and the contents. Keep a backup of it though, as you can retrieve your bookmarks and stuff from it!

I hope this helps, and that this is what your problem is about! :)
