Can't open programs

    Every time I try to open certain programs, i.e. AOL Instant Messenger, a control panel message pops up saying "This file does not have a program associated with it to perform this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel." There are many others that do this as well, I was using my instant messenger with no problems and then all of the sudden it started doing this. I don't know how to create an association and don't understand why I can't open programs. Someone please help!!! :rolleyes:
