I am trying to install world of warcraft to my pc but whenever i run the installation program it freezes and stops reading the cd so i copyed all the files into a directory on my desktop like the tech support page said but the program still freezes and stops running, i can cancel the installation and get the "installation aborted" message but it will freeze-stop running whenever i try to run the program again, i have tried everything that is on the blizzard tech page but it still freezes, i also installed the game on a friends pc and the copied the installed game to my comp but whenver i try to patch I have all kinds of errors and it takes luck to have the patch program make it all the way through, i am hoping that someone here might have an idea as to the problem or be able to refer me to a person or site that might..........

Disconnect from the internet. Meanwhile, Disable (Remember to enable it before connecting to the internet) you're firewall or AV only IF you have either in which you should have 1 of both...

i have tried turning off my firewall and anti virus program but the installation still freezes, when i ran that system identification tool in the post that gives you your system info it said my bios was last updated in 2003 could that be affecting it?, i would update it but i don't know how

No no no, Don't do that, Updating you're bio's is playing with you're PC's life basically.

Try this, Click Start>Run Type sfc /scannow Click ok.

I'm not sure if you're system will alow you to run it without the Operating system CD or not so have it ready just incase. Let it finish, Try again. Ususaly when something won't install it means there is a file corrupt on the system and that scan will fix it basically everytime.

Question though do any other installations give you the same problem? Other games, apps...etc.

By that...meaning BIOs are not Driver based.

well i ran that program and it went right through without asking me anything so it must not have found anything but when i tried the instal program after it it still froze, and i have not really had that kind of problem in any other program, i have had some run slow but none have frozen, WOW is the only one that has done that

Might have some malware issues go to the malware section of the forums complete the READ & RUN me before asking for support thread.

If you run into issues, Read on how to post.

EDIT: We have had quite a few come here with problem installing WoW, Seems Blizzard techsupport isn't to good.
