    Hi Geeks,
I have fast clean pro + a ton of other malware in my desktop and it refuses to go! malwarebytes either isn't finding it or can't remove it. I have run the tools as requested and will attach logs.
When I saw ads popping up etc I went looking for the baddy and found fast clean pro in the registry and manually deleted it, but after running hitman there is plenty of other stuff that needs to go.
I am still running XP - I know update, will do when I can afford to :(

    Hope someone can help, please?
    Thanks in advance :)
    Sharon

Rerun Hitman and have it fix everything it found. Then after a reboot, rescan and attach the new log.

    Hi TimW

I have rerun hitman and have a log but I can't get it to do anything? At the bottom of the screen when it its scanning says
"trial license has expired.Removal of spyware and other malicious software disabled. Buy now"

So I did the "ignore and apply to all", attached the new log and will await your instructions,

    many thanks
    Sharon

[IMG] Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Now I want you to toggle system restore. Turn it off, reboot and turn it back on. Then run a new scan with Hitman and attach the new log as well.

    Looking good TimW!!!

I did as asked and will attach logs. Hitman shows no threats.

I toggled system restore, but when I rebooted I forgot to restart it, ran hitman, then set a restore point. is that ok?

    Cheers,
    Sharon

Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

Reboot and tell me how things are running.

    Hi TimW

I thought I'd wait a few days before replying.

Thank you whatever you did has worked, all junk has gone and no more pop ups etc.

The computer is still VERY slow - particularly facebook! Could there be anything else or just slow speed from crappy satellite and old computer ;)?

    thanks again,
    Sharon

    You are welcome.

You have uTorrent running at start up which may cause so slowness in surfing. Also:

    Code:
    Total Physical Memory 2,048.00 MB
    Available Physical Memory 408.51 MB
    Not much ram to spare.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

If you still are experiencing slowness, post in the software forum.

Since you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Hi TimW
I did as you asked and have also competed the final steps.

when I was ticking the hijack this, there were 2 lines I did not have?
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (cleanup)] "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware"
    and
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-21-1220945662-1202660629-682003330-500\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe (User 'Administrator')

Will this matter? If not, can I just say thank you so much for your help. It will enable me to limp this computer along a little while longer and first on the tax return wishlist is a new desktop :)
