Sadly by just a Hijackthis log and one that is not run as specified in our guide I will post below may not help as many new malwares hide themselfs from being picked up in hijackthis, but besides that Hijackthis cannot locate all malware its very limited in what it scans for which is why the below guide and logs will give us much info about what malware has infected your PC.


Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

• Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
• Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

• After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

• When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
  • CounterSpy
  • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
  • Bitdefender - from step 6
  • Panda Scan - from step 6
  • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
  • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
  • HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

It is highly recommended that you start by uninstalling nProtect KeyCrypt which is known for adware.

Also uninstall the below old Sun Java versions & CounterSpy since we are finished with it.
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
Sunbelt CounterSpy

Now just exit Process Explorer.

Run HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_01\bin\jusched.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OrderReminder] C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\OrderReminder\OrderReminder.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it
double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.

• Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
• Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
• Check the 'Input script manually' box.
• Click on the magnifying glass icon.
• Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:

• Now click the 'Done' button.
• Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
• You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
• A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

Now run Ccleaner!

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

1. Avenger
2. GetRunKey
3. ShowNew
4. HJT

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 8 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

 

Did you forget to fix the below line? Try again

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://hsremove.com/done.htm

Make sure that you have browsers closed before clicking Fix checked.

Also it appears that you did not uninstall J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Also I had a type in me last message in the part where you created the fixME.reg patch. Please follow that part again and create a new fixME.reg patch and add it into the registry. Also tell me if you receive a success message or not.

Then attach a new log from GetRunKey.

 

That means you are locking the start page with some protection software. More than likely Symantec. Disable those features so you can remove this.

It did not work. You really should not type it. You really should copy and paste as suggested, however you could have a rootkit like infection here blocking it from being changed. Please run the below.

WareOut Removal

Then attach the requested log from FixWareOut and also a new log from GetRunKey.

 

It looks like the fixME.reg patch worked this time.

No! I you just need to reboot but into normal mode. When we did not say that, everyone kept asking "do I reboot into safe mode or normal mode"?

Did you download FixWareOut from the link I gave? It does not seem to be the correct version?


Now please download F-Secure's BlacklightBeta

• Download fsbl.exe and save it to the Desktop.
• Once saved... double click fsbl.exe to install the program.
• Click accept agreement and Click scan
• This application may trigger a warning from your antivirus. Let the driver load. Wait for it to finish.
• If it displays any items...don't do anything with them yet. Just hit exit (close)
• It will drop a log on Desktop that starts with fsbl....big number

Please attach the BlackLight log.

No that should not be necessary!

Are you still having problmes? If so, please do the below.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply

Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.


Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

1. GetRunKey
2. ShowNew
3. HJT
