When did you start to drink coffee?

With all that talk about coffee, it made me wonder...how old where you when you started to drink coffee? I remember when i was about 10 my dad would let me have a cup sometimes when we went out on the weekends. Now at 16 if i dont smell some coffee brewing in the morning i wont get up till 2pm. Thats what happened today.

Well let me know when you guys started to rely on coffee to bring you back to life

16 or 17, I think. I distinctly remember it having to do with not having typed (or even written a draft) of a term paper that was due the next day. (This was in an age when you had to go to a library to do research, and read actual books, and write your paper with a pen and paper before typing the final draft using a typewriter).

 

probably about 12... I suddenly started to like the flavour. That reminds me, my first ever girlfriend... cant make coffee to save her life! Oh she's great really, just don't ever ask her for any kind of hot beverage!

My standard drink is an americano (double shot of espresso) a spot of milk, sweetended slightly with vanilla syrup or maple syrup. Yumm... If I'm out, its got to be the standard issue Cappuccino

Tea......glorious Tea

 

Drank my mom's coffee when it got cold and she left it sitting around when I was 7-8, started with the "had to have it" around 12-13. Many, many years ago. Now (to me) nothing tastes better in the morning than a cup of strong black coffee and a smoke. Another excuse to why I cant quit smoking!

16 or 17, when it started being available wherever I was working.

 

I started drinking coffee when I was ten then when I moved out on my own at fifteen I'd drink it every morning. Then at about 25 I had beer every morning to get rid of the shakes Now I'm back to just coffee, all day and night if I can get it.

Black in the morn for me, and if I have a sweet tooth, I will go for a frozen cappicino.


It tastes good, but are their heath ramifications?

 

Black, and thick enough to eat with a fork.

Unless I'm hungover, then I add enough cream and sugar to sink a ship.

Screw the foo foo drinks... gimme coffee! If there's a shot of anything in it, usually it's just more coffee :biggrin: About the only thing I can take besides a regular cup of black coffee is a triple espresso latte ( gotta have the milk to take the edge off of all that acidity)

To answer the question - When did I start drinking Coffee? I don't know for sure, because I was bought up on tea, but probably occasionally in my early to mid teens (loooong ago!).

 

Dark roast. Slow Perk. Thick and hot. Occasional expresso shot (or two) dropped in for extra kick. Get's ya through the night.

 

I first started drinking coffee around 12 during camping trips...it just smelled sooo darn good....just had to try it. But it wasn't until my navy days that I turned hard core. I'll drink it in most any form (except chicory...too bitter) hot or iced, black or with cream and sugar..."I like, I love it, I want more of it"...

 

I started drinking coffee just shortly after God invented morning.

 

I can clearly remember the first time I drank black coffee. It was on a plane from Minnesota to San Diego back in '82. I was on my way to boot camp and figured I was gonna need it. I've been drinking it ever since. Gotta have me a pot every morning.

So, is that like weird ass (just plain strange) or weird ass as in your butt is doing strange things?

 

Wow there are so many of you who like it black. I cant stand it black. I just woke up and had a nice cup of dunken doughnuts coffee. 4creams, 4 equals.
thats even lite for me. I have to have it loaded up.

How do you fit any coffee in the cup? It's not caffeine you need, it's sugar! LOL

 

37 years old and still no coffee. No smoking either. I've just never wanted to try them and I suppose that's not such a bad thing.

 

Good for you Jamiko. I smoke yet, not for long, I hope, but never drank coffee. I LOVE the smell of it, though.
Gotta admit, I am addicted to Coke-a-cola...........Cutting down on that too, though

Never. Never liked the taste of it, never liked the smell of it. Don't like coffee flavoured anything. Must be inherited from my ex-Pommie dad, Just drink tea. Love Coca Cola though, but gotta restrict that. Bazza

I am 50 years old and have never had a coffee.
coke gives me jitters.
i dont want to be bouncing off walls.
but the smell is awsome
i love the smell

 

coffee jellybeans are good lol. besides eating those things i dont drink coffee. i have only had it like twice, once by mistake. idk though because moca is very good! i usually have a coke or something

oo had one of those once, they are good. wow that was like rare since that was only one of the coffees i have had.

 

My GF lives off coffee beans. You really don't wanna deprive her of her coffee... oooh you'll regret it

 

MD, if there's a Trader Joe's market anywhere near you. Try their Italian Roast Decaf. In your face flavor and zero caffiene. It's the only decaf I've found that delivers. It is one that tastes as good as it smells. It's not the epitome of flavor that caffinated brands offer, still it's not too bad.

I think ill stick with the 2% coffee, 49% suger, and 49% cream mix.

I think I was like 35, never liked it or the smell then one day on a road trip it smelled good so I tried it and was hooked until last saturday. I've been in a pretty bad mood for almost a week now as I also had to give up my Dr Pepper. Loaded with caffine and sugar mmmm. Just passing through, HI carry on.
