Cryptowall 3.0 RSA 2048

Hi all,

Not sure there is much point, but if you don't ask.....

It seems on Thursday our desktop was infected with Crypotwall 3.0 RSA 2048.

After extensive research - here and other sites - I am probably stuffed! But you get to a point where you can't trust the sites you are on - Firefox even tried to tell me MG was an "untrustworthy" site?

What I have done:
downloaded Kaperskys (~6 hours!)
Immediately it says it is outdated, run a scan anyway, nothing found.
Then the link I followed from here was SO outdated (according to Kaps)
So did an update today (~7 hours!)
ran another scan, still nothing.
Ran the bitcoin number though Kaps 'noransomeware' hasn't got a key for mine.
It was suggested to do a systems restore, but I couldn't restore prior to Thurs 30th. tries anyway and no good
Had read about 'shadow files' tried to download 'Shadow explorer' and failed.

Unfortunately we are on the NBN (go slow) satellite network (20G for $50/ month) and have now somehow used up all our data, so are the VERY go slow.

Running Windows 7, had AVG but Kaps removed it. It appears to be mainly excell and Pdf files which are locked.

Is it hopeless? any helpful suggestions Thanks in advance


PS: haven't run the malware tools as yet because I haven't been able to run malwarebytes for awhile, and I will have to download elsewhere, but thought I'd ask if there was any point first.
