    HI,

My computer has been running real slow and sometimes my homepage changes to something I don't want.

No one has been able to help me, so if you could it would be great!

Also my homepage was changed to something called astromenda and there is a "cut the rope" file on my desktop that I did not put there ;(

    The URL is

    astromendagames.com/game/Cut-The-Rope/888?shs=dt&p=ast&utm_medium=icd&utm_source=ast&sc=dt

    Hi and welcome. :)

Re run HitmanPro and have it remove all it finds....

Could you please get this: sp_data.sys into a zipped file and attach it for me in your next post? To do this, see the below:

Please go to start > Run and paste in the following:
    log retrievable @ C:\collect.zip

Re run Hitman Pro again (just a scan) and attach log.

    Thanks Kestrel13!

I have bit-defender and I can run a boot scan if that would help.

You will probably have to uninstall all the below: (using Revo Uninstaller)
    • Google Chrome
    • Google Talk Plugin
    • Google Update Helper

Then reinstall as there are a few minor issues with the browser settings.

The file I had you zip up looks fine.

Once you have reinstalled the Google components, re scan with Hitman and attach log. Explain how things are running.

I tried to remove those with revo and after each one, it said something about leftover files and registry keys and I did not know what to do.
I may not have done it right :/

Also I did not see any Google Update Helper.

Everything seems to be a bit better. Thanks.

Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

No there's still crap showing. Only minor, but it's junk I hate to leave behind.

    Let's try this way:

[IMG] Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
    • Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
    • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
    • Attach the logfile to your next next reply.
    • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.

Go ahead and let Adwcleaner remove what it finds. Once done rescan with Hitman Pro and attach log.

    Remove these again using Revo:

    • Google Chrome
    • Google Update Helper

When it lets you know about left over registry entries, let it clean them too.

Once done, just do this for now:

Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.
