Can anyone recommend newbie-level tutorials to teach me how to pare down Linux kernel, without causing 'kernel-panic', or making OS unstable? Specifically, I need to learn how to totally erase (as in delete, not disable) various kernel configuration items...such as CONFIG_INTEL_TXT.

Download kernel headers.
Edit the .config file. This is the configuration file that enables things like what you mentioned. Then recompile. When you get far enough to recompile, reply back and I'll show you how. Give me your distro and version as well. |
