Windows 8.1, IE 10, Thunderbird 31.5.0 - Is there a way to click on a link in Thunderbird and have IE pop up and not the CHARM IE? I despise Win 8.1 and these charms. Give me Win 3.1 any old day! I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hmm, 8.1, I'd click, the windows key on your keyboard, or the start button, and type in default. Choose default programs.

Then select "Set your default programs".

Wait, wait, wait, wait, Select your browser of preference. Then click "Set this program as default" Press ok.

theefool - I tried that and still got the charm. Just wondering if I deleted the IE Charm, would it delete the whole IE program? Thanks for your help earlier.

My default is Firefox, but I just temporarily changed it to IE (IE11) using Control Panel > Default Programs > Set Program Access and Computer Defaults > select Custom and hit the dropdown > select Internet Explorer. Sent myself a test email containing a link to this thread and it opened IE in desktop mode rather than Start screen mode, which I think is what you mean by CHARM

That didn't work either. Thank you for trying to help.
