does anyone know a program that checks wich codec is missing for a file. I down movies a lot and when I want to play them I sometimes get the error that I'm missing a codec. I have teh latest updates and codec packs of Windows media player thingie.

I've found for myself that most movies that Realone/Windows Media player couldn't find was the DivX codec.

If you really want to install all codecs and be done with those missing codec's messages go and download nimo. Nimo is just just a package of pretty much ever codec. I don't have a link for you but if you type nimo codec pack into google i'm sure there main site will be the first one returned.

Nimo really is a great package and it stays fairly up to date too.
