    Hi all,

Thanks in advance for your replys.

    I have a notebook (ASUS X53U) running Win7.

I recently had some issues with Windows so decided to try the 'Recovery' partition on the hd. This failed 3 times, and would hang at certain screens.

4th time lucky and it went through, very slow, but ok. HOWEVER.
It is so slow, clicking on links on webpages freezes, opening new programs takes 2-3 minutes each, I have no idea what is wrong. I decided to do sfc /scannow and it said:
http://pastebin.com/kgLBFC8S - but I cannot access the LOG file which was created as I get this error.
    ---------------------------
    Notepad
    ---------------------------
    Access is denied.

    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

Anything I can do to fix?

    Richard

In my Windows 7 it use to freeze and slow down a bit, mainly in the first 30 minutes from me switching it on. When you next start your PC up, keep an eye on Task Manager and have a look if any of the processes are using all of your memory or CPU. Sometimes Windows 7 does caching and bits in the background, which shouldn't interfere, but sometimes it can. There are ways to manage this. I would suggest just googling the process, if you find one. Or let us know which one, and we can try and work out ways to get round it slowing things down for you.

    Thanks for reply.
Laptop has been on for around 3 hours this morning while I try and attempt to sort things out with it, but it hasn't changed, had resource manager in background nothing is consuming my memory or CPU - I'm concerned about the error message I got on the sfc.

I would try something like advanced system care

Or, black vipers registry hack to get services tuned up,But, read all about it first, and download the repair back to normal, too. I have found , personally, that reinstalling, and recovering from disc does appear to slow windows down likw this, sometimes, and the only thing I can think of is the hard drive itself.
