    Gee it's that time again Laura so have a very happy birthday and also a big thank you for all the work you do around the forum :major .. :drink

    Now I noticed the years were stacking up a bit so today we wind back the clock for your 30th birthday and to remind you of your recent trip to Scotland, I picked up this cool birthday cake for you :yum

    Thank you all! You guys are all wonderful and I'm so glad I stumbled upon Major Geeks those many years ago.

    It's already started out great. My dad called me and asked me if I wanted to play golf at his club today...which was an incredible treat since it's rated the top in the world. I didn't play well, but the course is amazing, the weather was beautiful, and I got to play with my dad, my husband and my good friend.

    Tomorrow is my actual birthday and my mom is taking me out to lunch and then my family is taking me out to a nice dinner. So a good start for sure. :)


    A little bit. It's that Australia day ahead time zone thing. LOL

    1 out of 3 ain't bad? :-D

    Did you take that picture, Em?? That's a beauty! :)

    So, I know one of my presents already because I may have picked it out myself. LOL I got a new chef's knife. I'm so excited to start to use it. It's carbon steel:

    Have a great one Laura and I read now that you're are celebrating 2 days for your Birthday which is fabulous. What a great knife you got for your b'day, would be scaring the bejus out of me to use it, jk :)

    Being taking out for lunch and dinner is a great way to celebrate being with family and friends.. So have fun and pick the best tasting food from the menus. Enjoy!

    What I really want is one of his custom cooking knives. Those go by auction though for stupid money. Bob Kramer is one of 5 (I believe) master bladesmen in the world and one of only a couple that do kitchen cutlery.

    Mine is endorsed by him for Henckels. You can buy these in the store, but they are high end for store bought. :drool

    Ooooo...a camera cake (Nice!)

    We won't mention the fact that it's a Canon. :-D;)

    Thanks oma. A weird thing, but I love really good cooking knives. I have to find somewhere to store this one so it (and all around it it!) are safe. LOL

    It's a Bob Kramer 8" Chef's knife by Zwilling J.A. Henckels (oh, and that is an internet pic...not my arm and hand. LOL)

    So, I made vegetable beef soup yesterday. I had tons of things to cut and chop. Omg, this knife cut through everything, including the beef short ribs, like butter. Seriously. I always sharpen my knives and considered them very sharp, but damn. What a freakin knife.

    You really have to take care of the carbon steel, though, so it doesn't rust.

    I was wondering, if that was you holding the knife if you had some additional news to share with us. :-D

    Been looking for a good chef knife. I have the inexpensive Henckles set, but the big knife, while good for the price, just ain't cutting it when I need to do a lot of chopping.
