Hello and HELP!

    I am new to this forum but was told that someone here could help me.

    I have a DELL laptop that keeps crashing on me at startup. Shortly after keying in user name and passwords, the screen turns blue and says that it is shutting down because of a major problem. It says its "dumping memory". What is this and how do I get back all the pictures and all my itune files?

    Is this a common problem or specific to DELL (I have another desktop at work that started doing this about a year ago that is also a DELL).

    Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
