Amd 2.0ghz?

hi i am questioning how does a 3800 amd 2x cpu at 2.0 ghz match a 3.4ghz pentium? i mean...the ghz difference seems to be very much higher however they say these two processors r almost equal?

 

it doesnt match by GHz mate. it matches by the workload. in other words a amd athlon 64 x2 3800+ can do the same work as a 3.4GHz Pentium but at a lower speed.....

 

oh..so technically the amd is slower than the 3.2?

 

yea it is by GHz. but that doesnt stop amd cpus powering through windows, games etc....

 

hmm ic...uhm does browsing through the internet considered workload?

 

well its a tiny workload but not major....
