Hi guys, I'm kinda new to computers and I was just wondering,
is it a good idea to keep all your personal informtion like passwords, credit card numbers, PINS, bank account numbers etc. in your computer using a password protected vault?

    Thanks for any suggestions guys.

    P.D Great forum folks.

Personally I wouldnt do it, but if you have a good program with strong encryption then I wouldnt see the harm in storing them in a passworded/encrypted vault.

something for you to also read http://www.dummies.com/WileyCDA/DummiesArticle/id-2905.html

actually this is a good question you bring up torotote and I would like to hear what others think on this?

I've been using Password safe from http://www.counterpane.com for years.

    2 warnings.

    (1) Don't forget your original password to log into Password safe otherwise you're stuffed.
    (2) back up the encoded file regualrly to another medium, like a jumpdrive, or floppy, or CD in case your hard drive crashes.

Safety.dat file is the one to backup up.
Whole program would fit on a CD. Safety.dat file is only 11kb in size. Bazza
