    hi there,

Ive got windows XP and our PC is set up so that the four of us in our house each have our own settings (as administrators) and a guest setting (non administrator). The internet explorer browsers on all the settings have started running really slowly but NOT on the guest setting. I'm not sure if this is spyware because I followed all the procedures on the spyware removal thread exactly and there's been no change. Any ideas what might cause this? Could it be a firewall thing?

Also, I ran hijack this on every setting and found nothing that I think might have caused this because I pretty much knew every program on it

Enabling Guest accounts is not a good thing to do. There have been to many security issues with that.

If you have run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

and you have run them on ALL user accounts follow the steps below for one user account (like yours to start).

Make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

thx i'll try that. Like I said, I followed all the steps on that sticky thread but that was in safe mode, so I'll try it on all the different user settings.

Only users with Admin priviledges will show up in safe mode, so if you are all Admins that would make it possible for you to run the READ ME for each user account in safe mode as required. After doing that post, the HJT log for "your" user account (name it accordingly so we can track which log is for which account).
