BIT DUMP of screen page or part of text

I'm after a utility that will allow me to capture information on screen - Freelancer game by Microsoft studios - where a base / space station has a page come up on screen about it or the owners who run it .
I want to cut and paste this into a online forum or message board if possible or into microsoft word / office program .
there was one called bit dump i think with windows but cannot seem to locate it - simple to use .confused

Bitdump is listed here http://www.os2site.com/sw/util/misc/index.html old OS2 appliction though that may not work on todays OSes.

Fraps is one many gamers use to capute screen shots in game http://www.majorgeeks.com/Fraps_d149.html but its not free.

you could try XNViews screen capture option as it allows you to add a hot key to take the screenie and a dir to save the images directly too, but some screen capture apps dont work well ingame http://www.majorgeeks.com/XnView__d4974.html
