No Sound...There is a yellow exclamation mark beside the High Definition Controller and a permanent x over the sound icon, also my usb ports have stopped working (I just want to focus on the sound now if possible). Thank you all in advance!.

Uninstall audio driver through "programs and features" in control panel.
Check device manager and make sure it is gone from there too.
Restart computer. then go here for your Audio Driver......

select your OS in the dropdown box then select sound in the dropdown box next to it then download Realtek Driver. Re-start your machine for it to take effect.

Download the free, Speccy http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...s&txt=http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html then run Speccy and click File > Save as Text File, then attach the log as per instructions below (note: as Speccy also now lists more data it likely will have your Windows licence serial key also in the log, so look for Operating System and under that Serial Number and delete the code and Save the log)

this will help in finding the correct chipset driver for your motherboard to assist me fixing the issue you are having with the usb ports to.

select your OS (win 7 64bit) from the OS dropdown box then select "sound" in the Categories dropdown box on the next page select to download the
"Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 7 (32/64)(v6.0.1.5904; 09-04-2009; 69.55M)" follow the on screen instructions and let me know if you have your audio back.

Did you ever find a solution to the problem? I have a laptop that I'm working on that is having the exact same problems (audio and usb ports). I've tried removing the driver and installing the driver straight from Toshiba's site but no good.
