a MACRO for WINXP? a script or batch file?

Hello,

I get online via dialup using a moden attached to my router - this is so I can share the net connection over my lan (please don't laugh - I live in the boonies...) To get on-line I have to click in 6 different places. I would like to write a batch file (or macro, etc...) that will automatically get me on-line when launched. I have no idea where to start, but I am eager to learn.

Any hints on how to do what I want, what path I should take, where can I find the necessary info to learn (tutorials, etc...)??
