Disabling or getting around activating windows!?

    Ive installed windows using my mates version of XP because i cant find mine nor my CD Key..

    This version is xp home and its asking me to activate windows, i have 28 days remaining. its took me ages to get my computer sorted due to new hardware upgrades etc and i dont want to lose this setup.

    If anybody knows how i can disable or get around activating windows please help. thankyou.

    I've tried changing my CD key and that hasnt worked:<
