    Hi Guys,

Im trying to decide which memory module I should get and whats compatible... I have a P4 3.06 533, with a 512MB Stick (DDR400 PC-3200), I want to sell it so I can get a 1GB stick, instead of buying an extra 512MB Stick which I cant guarantee is identicle with the current stick! It's an Memory Extreme module (El-Cheapo).

My boards a SiS 661FX Chipset. Supports up to P4 4000Mhz, 2GB Memory, is Serial ATA & IDE (Currently Using SATA @ 160GB Seagate Barra), I will upgrade to a 800FSB P4 so PC-3200 is a must, which one on this site is the best Bang for Buck, in performance/reliability?

    Thanks Guys,

    Dave

Me again. :D Go to www.crucial.com
They have an on-line scanner that will scan your PC and tell what RAM fits / is best, for your PC. Bazza

Oooops, sorry, re-listed correctly, I had my son in my arms feeding, typing with 1 hand, key by key.

Curious whether the 2x 512MB sticks would be better for the Dual Channel, or maybe I wouldn't even noticed a diffrence...
Acer SA80 with SiS661 FX Crapset, erm... Chipset...

I don't like SIS, they don't have Chipset Drivers!

    I'd recommend buying 1 gig stick, rather than 2 x 512.
Leaves more room for future expansion if you decide to go that way.
I realise that desktops have more slots than laptops (usually 2 only), but would still go for the 1 gig.

You can still fit your existing RAM into a second slot for even more memory.
