I have just ran spybot search and destroy (I run it more or less every week along with adaware.) Half way through the check a message saying there was a problem in the includes hijackers file, check include error.log for info. In this log there are entries from coolwwwsearch (mostly exe files) The spybot check finished and said there were no immediate threats.

Do I need to get rid of coolwwwsearch and if so, how?

    Regards

    Sandy

One of your files may be corrupted. You should uninstall Spybot! Then reboot and then reinstall, update, and re-immunize. Make sure you have the current version: Spybot

That seems to have done the trick.

    Thanks Chaslang

All seemed to be OK but now the same thing has happened after almost 2 months. There does not appear to be any sign of coolwwwsearch on my system but Spybot is finding the hijack error again. Any other ideas?

Sounds like you somehow corrupted your files again! Do the same thing as last time in message # 2.
