Thanks everyone for their help with this forum, its much appreciated.

I am in the midst of going through the tutorial posted above for cleaning out viruses and spyware, but am getting hung up with a question early on...

I ran the Symantec on-line scan as suggested in the tutorial. It found a lot of problems. But that is only a scan correct? You need Norton to clean them up?

So I ran my Norton 2003 with the latest update (March 2nd, I beleive) and it finds absolutely nothing, and I did a full scan?

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, any idea of what it is? :(

Symantec's online scan is just a scan, you have to manually delete the files.

TrendMicro's Online Virus Scan will scan and clean infected files.

Okay, I'll do that, there is an awful lot of files to find through explorer though. The trendmicro didn't seem to find anythign wrong wither, but Symantec did. Strange.

    Thanks for your help!

After you have completed the online scans and the rest of the steps in the sticky. Procede to attaching a HJT log for further cleaning.

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99.1 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an ATTACHMENT.
All instructions are covered in the sticky thread
NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a Hijack This log as an ATTACHMENT to your message (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post). Please close unnecessary running programs before you run HijackThis. You must close each of the following: your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc.

DO NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT
