Always cool to see links like that; amateur rocketry has been stifled a bit since certain engines are no longer sold freely due to security concerns, but there's always alternative propellants out there :)

Nitrate based oxidizers used in sugarshot are around 50% less less powerfull than ammonium perchlorate based propellants, hence the rocket will have to carry twice the amount of fuel around 900lbs that the first amateur rocket Gofast to reach space carried 435lbs

There are some huge technical hurdles to overcome, one of which is the fuel segments which are 147lbs! each and there are 6 of them, that will have to be hotcast at around 170 C and poured into moulds safely on site due to transport laws.

heres 1\4 scale mock up of the sugar shot motor which will be test fired

I knew I could rely on you Star to be interested :) ,I have to join a rocketry forum I could talk about this stuff all day :)
