    Hello everyone...

First thank you all for doing this. Many of us end up with no idea, first what has happened to our computer, and second whatever to do about it.

    Now my problem:

Services.exe runs continously and takes up 50% of my CPU capacity all the time. This program can not be closed. It is a "Critical process and can not be closed".

Occasionally Svchost.exe runs with a 200,000+ KB program. This then uses all the CPU and nothing else can happen.

    SuperAntiSpyware shows no problems.

    MalwareBytes shows no problem.

Microsoft Security Essentials shows a Trojan:DOS/Alureon.A virus but it can not remove it due to a technical problem. (???)

TDSSKiller will not load beyond 80% initialization and shuts down with an unable to load and offers to send an error message to Microsoft.

    Attached are MGTools.zip, Combofixlog.txt & Rootrepeal.log.

I hope you all can help me with this problem. It's driving me crazy!!

    Moe

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need to use your Windows XP CD to boot to the Recovery Console and run the fixmbr to clear a Master Boot Record infection that you have.

You can read the below to help you do this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654

After running the fixmbr command then boot back to normal mode Windows and try running TDSSkiller now. Then attach the log. Also explain if you are still having any malware problems.
