Thanks to Majorgeeks for posting Puppy Linux 2.01 live CD
on their site today, Thursday in Australia.
    Puppyos.com
Puppy is a live CD, 72 meg download ISO that you burn as
a multisession CD. It boots very quickly and saves to USB, CD etc.
Very stable, user friendly fast reply forums. Did I say completel free?
No Spyware etc. Small but compressed and fully featured.
Made for recycling old computers as well as for new.

And it comes from the land of OZ, outback Western Australia.
But listed at number 18 in Distrowatch. So no slouch.
I believe that it is the fastest boot CD in the world. 65 seconds on my
machine 2.8 Celeron 512 ram. On an old IBM Celeron 500,
after saving a file back to the hard drive -good way to boot quickly -
it booted in 70 seconds. Amazing performance.
Please read the latest news first. Great for safe internet banking
web browsing etc. One setup question - select keyboard, which for
many is US, and after booting select your screen size.
Use blue connect button to select Ethernet 0, test and then select
DCHP, save and exit and then choose firewall, hit enter5 times?
and you are a freebird as Lynyrd Skynyrd might say.
Of course enable your bios to boot CD first.

If you have been hit badly by internet nasties, but you have this CD
you'll be able to get by until you get your computer repaired.
Thanks again to Majorgeeks - a great site that I have enjoyed
    for years .
PS... I am not associated with Puppy Linux in anyway,
but an extremely happy user who appreciates this brilliant software.

All Puppies run like the wind..on old or new computers because Barry Kauler built it from the ground up. All sorts of Puppies are in the downloads..some 12 megs, 44 megs, 2.14 = 87 megs etc.....Seven major releases in 2006.

Barry finally got Satellite Broadband after Christmas 2006, saving him the pleasure of not having to do a 700 kms return drive from outback Western Australia to his server in Perth to upload and then come home
    .
They recently ran a Linux Conference in Sydney on January 15th - 20th, 2007
and didn't even give him an invitation, let alone a mention.
(BarryK I didn't even know about it!
It's in Sydney, the opposite side of Australia, too far to go. Looks like some interesting topics. Barry Kauler) www.puppyos.com

Thanks again Major Geeks..I have pointed your pages out to Puppy
forums many times. You are a fun site, and I have stopped here often.

    Regards Chris.
