'dmg' files, what are they?

I'm downloading to files from Major geeks, both the same, but one has
the extension 'dmg', the other 'exe'. the 'dmg' is a larger file.
Can someone explain?? (soon!!) :major

I've left my Fav Frosty because somehow the enemy keep Hi-Jacking
(redirecting) my download clicks to a retail site, because some people don't want us to SWOP files, just buy them another mansion. Grrrr.

Now I'm using Shareaza, but it's not the Frosty I love.

I get the impression that the whole P2P system is under systematic attack
but no-one will admit it, or perhaps concede that the enemy are ....winning!

So, dmg???? Genuine file type?

 

Yes .dmg files are mac installer/virtual disk files.

Yes...The consensus iz that dmg iz Mac...so silly me!!

I've since sorted out the Frosty Hijacks, so back to biz for me on that.
Yes, all p2p stuff needs careful handling, a ton of AV stuff, and a PARANOID
