Distorted Sound when use mouse scroll wheel

Okay, so I don't have the zippiest PC, but I generally use it for web browing and a bit of music/film.

I have a 1GB Processor with 512 RAM.
Windows XP Service Pack 2.

When I'm playing music, and I'm browsing, when I use my scroll wheel on my mouse the sound distorts. Screeching, warbled.

This happens when I have tried using both my onboard soundcard (ac97), and most recently a new soundblaster PCI card.

Any ideas would be most appreciated. Using most up-to date drivers, have tried different volumes in sound setting, etc.

Does it stop when you stop scroling with your mouse wheel? it should not do that thats really strange

 

Almost perfectly in time with the scrolling action.

If I say scrolled a whole page very quickly, the distortion would be greater than if I very slowly scrolled a web page.


It almost sounds like very bad scratching in time with the scroll wheel.

Please help, I don;t understand.

 

Is Your Mouse Wireless? If It Is Wireless It May Be Interfering With Your Sound Card Or Speakers

 

Yes it is wireless, however I remember the problem to have been occuring even when I had a wired mouse.

I shall check this evening. And giev a ne wpost weh nI've had a look

 

Is Your Sound Card On bord Or In A PCI Slot If It Is In A PCI If So Slot Try To Take It Out And Check The Slot It May Have Dust This May Or May Not Work But Worth A Try Mabye There Is A Problem With The Motherboard Hope You Get It Fixted
