Hi all. As my name implies, I know just enough to be dangerous. Having problems with my motherboard and some new memory I just installed.
I have a Gigabyte GA-K8VT800M board and recently went from 1gig of memory (512 x2) to 2gigs (1024 x2). Sadly, the board/bios (I think) doesn't see all of it and, therefore, windows doesn't. The scanner at crucial.com sees both sticks and belarc advisor sees both, though belarc only shows 1 gig 'installed.' I've tried to update the bios (I have the first release), but have been unsuccessful. When I tried the first update (version 2), I got an error message saying 'chipset not found.' Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
