    Hey,

don't know wether you guys know about lynda.com? I think it is a really good made website to learn important skills. Especially the courses about websites are quite nice and give you all the important basics.

Anyway I wanted to ask if someone knows a good video grabber or capturing software in order to save videos from this page on hard disk? I was trying some browser plugins but neither one gave me any success...
If I could watch this vids on my tablet while having breaks or free time at university it would be awesome.
    Thanks so much!

    HI

Orbit downloader always seemed to work really well for downloading video content, however I would if memory serves install using the custom route as it is advertising based software, and can if you are not careful install other not needed applications, so go slow with the install and read evry install step.

Freemake Video downloader i have installed at present, must have been a reason why I used it, but again I would custom install and read all the install steps.

Give these two a go, but note that not all sites will allow you to download from easily, especially if they want you to pay for content, so it maybe a bit of trial and error with different downloading apps.

Thanks for your input. I will try them out. Though I read about Freemake Video Download that there is 'aggresive addware' comming with the install. So I guess I should take your advice serious and double check what I am installing.

Hi yeah I took my time in reading everything and Freemake didnt install anything extra I had unticked at install, so at least it abides by its installer.

I have Freemake installed also. Fortunately I also run Malwarebytes Pro and it warned me of PUPs (potentially unwanted programs). It was Conduit or Open Candy, I think. I had MBAM quarantine the unwanted programs and my install is also without garbage added.

    Hi,
i think the most straight forward should be to try a free screen recorder like camstudio. It is a free and stable software. I like the basic interface but the functionality is a bit limited. Plus u will have one big recording of your screen and will have to cut the video later. Though with windows video software this is easy and fast possible.

If u prefer a more convenient way to capture it and you are okay with spending some bugs, Audials could be an alternative for u: http://audials.com/en/how_to_record_stream_capture_music_videos_movies_from/lynda.html

    Cheers

Hi guys! sorry to but in. I just want to say thanks in advance: I have the same problem as coldturkey - saving tutorial videos from a free online course. I was even thinking of recording then with a video camera but the sound quality wouldn't be so good and if this does the same... Otherwise, any way of cutting out the rest of the screen and have only the video - hopefully this would make the file size smaller as I am running out of hardware space.

Any program like CamStudio for Android? I have a technical problem that is very difficult to describe without video. I haven't been able to use my tablet for so long that I don't even remember the version of OS any more. I could not switch off the machine and had to let it drain the battery. Did this three times but I don't want to do it too many times. I tried to take a video of it with a phone camera but it was useless.

Thanks David. I assume this is for Android... I just thought that it would be impossible to start the program when the problem starts because the screen jumps up and down constantly and so fast you can't do anything and there doesn't seem to be no way out of it. It also starts at random so I can't anticipate it and turn on the app just before... And the only way out is to let the battery run flat. :( The machine was sent twice to the manufacturer under warranty but this is something new and the warranty has run out. :(:(

Yup an Android version here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grabilla.capture I think the issue you may have is one a screen grab app may not work for 100% as you need something that starts a screengrab when an issue appears and we cannot predict sadly. I would say take it back to manufacturers but I know you have done this, maybe an Android specialist is what you need to dissect this and sadly I'm not an Android specialist, Windows yes.

    Open your browser full screen.
In Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, press the F11 key.

Thanks. I thought maybe a small screen, rather than a full one would take less MB.
