computer username locked

    My sister in the nursing home turned her computer off last night. Today when she tried turning it on she said it showed her username and where the password should go it just said locked. There was no place to put the password. After a bit the screen went black. All I know about her PC is that it is an HP and windows 8. Thank you.

    Did you already try ctrl-alt-del?

    If so, try rebooting it.

    She said she had rebooted already but it turns out she hadn't. She finally got it turned off and back on and it worked. Thank you.
