Sound Hangs Intermittently

Ok, in any type of playback, be it local mp3, streaming video, flash animations, even when I play Civ 3, the sound will hang from time to time. It will sort itself out after a while, but the weird thing is, if you move the mouse, it immediately quits hanging. It does it again soon after, of course, but it quits when you move the mouse, or press a key on the keyboard. I've tried moving the sound card to another slot, I've tried not running any programs I don't absolutely have to, nothing works. All drivers are up to date including sound card, vid card, and chipset. Needless to say, it's annoying as hell. What do you think?
